About Wooden horseshoe ranch
The Wooden Horseshoe Ranch has been many years in the making. From starting small and learning as much as they can, Matt & Carol began this dream by building their vision of the ranch in 2020. They fell in love with the horses and saw the healing power they can have. As it first started as a hobby, it evolved into a passion and now offering the same experiences to those in need.
Matt & Carol married in 2022 on the ranch. They have a daughter born September 2023. Matt was also a single father of four children for more than 10 years who have all grown up and left the nest. The Wooden Horseshoe Ranch is a certified stable from the MN Horse Council.
The Wooden Horseshoe Ranch does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, disability, marital status, genetic information, veteran status, or any other factors not listed. We service those in need and as long as safety guidelines are followed with the horses and other participants, we offer a place for inclusion.
Matt Nosko owner and President, is a disabled U.S. Marine who served from February 1995 to July 1997. Cooking has always been a therapeutic and relaxing activity for him but as he realized his dream of owning his own horse, he found that caring for horses offered him a much stronger healing process than traditional therapy, medications and activities. As he invited others to his farm, and those with autism, down syndrome, and other veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD and seeing the immediate benefits in them, he started to pursue the ability to offer this service throughout the communities in need.
Carol Nosko, Vice President, grew up a city girl living in St. Paul, MN. Fitness for over 10 years has been her outlet for relieving stress and anxiety. She has always had a special place for animals, especially dogs, but her heart grew with love for horses when she started dating Matt. Being with hers and Matt's horses has grown to an extra bonus as a stress and anxiety reliever.
